Probes, sensors, meters, and output devices used in treatment and feed systems, whichever controller they connect to. Start here to understand an instrument; go to the controller’s own pages to wire and configure it.
Information about an instrument lives in three layers, from general to specific:
| Layer | Answers | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Measurements | How does this kind of instrument work? What interferes with it, and how is it maintained? | How ultrasonic level sensors work, and why foam and condensation upset them |
| Signals | How does an instrument talk to a controller? | How a 4–20 mA loop carries a reading, and what a reading below 4 mA means |
| Equipment | What are this model’s outputs and electrical ratings, and which controllers support it? | The Pyxis ST-500’s outputs, supply, and default scaling |
Wiring and configuring an instrument on a particular controller belongs to that controller, not here. Each equipment page links to those pages:
Instruments sit on pressurized, often hot, chemical lines, and many are wired into panels that carry line voltage. Read Safety before installing or servicing one, and check Material Compatibility for anything wetted.
