What you need on hand before installing an InteliHive — the controller itself, and the devices, power, and cabling a working system needs around it.
The exact contents of the shipping box for the current hardware are not yet in this manual. Check the packing list supplied with the unit.
The InteliHive controller, with its display, buttons, and status LEDs. Some units ship with the IO-Link board fitted and some without — a unit without it has no IO-Link ports. A unit may also arrive with its profile already locked at the factory.
- A regulated 24 V DC supply, sized for the controller plus everything it powers — port-powered Modbus devices and IO-Link sensors. See Sizing the supply.
The controller has no relays of its own. For every pump or valve it switches, you need one of:
- a Legacy Relay Device 6 — a Modbus-controlled board with six relays, on the Modbus bus;
- a wireless output — Wireless Relay Expander (two outlets) or Wireless Relay Strip (three or six outlets);
- a NextStep dosing pump, controlled directly over Modbus.
- Water-quality probes for Modbus — pH, conductivity.
- IO-Link sensors — level, pressure, flow.
- Contacts — water meters, flow switches, level switches, external stops, wired to IO-Link ports.
Check every model against Supported Devices.
- RS-485 cable for the Modbus bus — twisted pair, run as a daisy chain — and termination for both ends.
- M12 A-coded sensor cables for IO-Link sensors.
- Pull-up resistors (1–10 kΩ) for NPN sensors and contacts wired to ground on IO-Link inputs. See Configuring a contact.
- Cable glands to suit the enclosure.
- A phone or tablet with the Inteliverse app, if you want to set up from the phone rather than the controller’s buttons.
- The site’s WiFi name and password, if the controller will report to the cloud.
